I have an 8 year old Logiteck speaker system for my PC, which included a 200W subwoofer. I'm sure if I leave this set on 24/7 it will be fine, but they are known for overheating and I don't want to subject it to any more heat than it needs. People say "oh your amp is dying".this or that.but the whole amp can't die can it? Is it a simple component on it's way out? I presume a 30minute sub warm up in regular temperatures is not a normalcy. Had some trouble at first it seemed and then cleared up. then 30minutes later sure enough it stumbled on. Fired it up this AM and same symptom, dead sub. The wires going to the satellites are 24awg, super cheesy, so I'd like to replace those with something heftier.īut yeah, before I go any further, does anyone have a clue as to what would case the sub to do nothing until after a 30minute warm up? I listened for hours last night and it was great. There were two versions of the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 rigs, an earlier one which I bought, and a later one without a removable fuse and a sub that's 6.6lbs lighter. I e-mailed the seller (pleasant to deal with, no issues there regardless of what happens), and 35 minutes later the sub kicked on and all is well with the world. At first power up the sub wouldn't do anything. They have been acting kind of strange since I got them yesterday. I bought a used set of Klipsch Promedia 2.1 computer speakers off eBay.
